The SoM offers two types of doctoral program, i.e., Doctor of Management and Doctor of Economics. There are two post-doctoral research stations, two doctoral stations in the first-level disciplines, one doctoral station in the second-level station. This discipline acquired the authority to confer doctoral degrees in management engineering in 1986 and in construction economics in 1993. In 1997, with the national adjustment of faculties and disciplines, Management Science and Engineering was combined to be a first-level discipline to confer PhD degrees. In 1998, this discipline acquired the authority to confer doctoral degrees in technology economics. The first level discipline of Management Science and Engineering was approved as the National Key Discipline in 2001, which successfully passed the evaluation of national key discipline in 2006. In 2003, the discipline acquired the authority to confer doctoral degrees in Business Administration. In 2005, it was approved to set up the first-level discipline doctoral station in Business Administration. As to September, 2015, the discipline has 56 doctoral supervisors, 137 master supervisors (including doctoral supervisors).

This discipline, developed from the previous Department of Engineering Economics and Department of Management Engineering, is one of the earliest organizations that conducted teaching and research in this field. It acquired the authority to confer PhD degrees in Technical Economics and Management, and then in Enterprise Management in 2003. It was approved to set up the first-level discipline doctoral station in Business Administration in 2005 and awarded the provincial key discipline in 2006. With preferential support from the National 985 Program, this discipline advances rapidly and remains at the domestic top level in both research and teaching. In addition, the long term collaboration with the overseas well-known universities has greatly promotes it towards globalization. The main research areas are listed as follows.

In 1998, with the national adjustment of faculties and disciplines, Public Administration became a first-level discipline in management faculty. Taking globalization and internationalization as positioning, this discipline seeks collaboration and exchange with many overseas well-known universities, including Delft University of Technology in Netherland, George Mason University, MIT and Carnegie Mellon University in the USA, Cambridge University in the UK and so on, which facilitates its development at a rapid speed and cultivation of public administration talents with international perspectives.
