Identifying a research question and contributing to research and practice is a challenge frequently faced by doctoral students and early career researchers (ECRs). Many seek definitive answers, adopting an output-focused, performance-driven mindset without fully engaging with the underlying research process. This presentation aims to provide insights and perspectives to help students and ECRs better appreciate and navigate the iterative process of formulating research questions and making meaningful contributions to their fields.

报告人简介

Andrew Yu (PhD) is an Associate Professor and the Director of the PhD Program for the Department of Management & Marketing at the University of Melbourne, Australia. He received his PhD from Michigan State University, United States. Andrew’s research has covered topics including gender biases, diversity, leadership and team dynamics, employee well-being, HRM, work-family issues, and job performance. He serves as an Associate Editor for the Journal of Occupational and Organizational Psychology (JOOP) and is an editorial board member at Human Resource Management (HRM). He has received awards for both research and teaching excellence in Australia and the United States.
