报告题目：Publishing in JOM and IJOPM: My Experience

报告摘要

In this seminar, I will share my experience of publishing papers in Journal of Operations Management (JOM; ABS4*; FT50; UTD24) and International Journal of Operations & Production Management (IJOPM; ABS4), two major empirical journals in the Operations Management (OM) field. I will first introduce the two journals, providing an overview of the papers published in the two journals in the past 5 years (2018-2022) and highlighting some unique elements in the review processes of the two journals. I will then share my own experience as an author of 10 papers published in the two journals but also as the two journals’ Associate Editor or Editorial Review Board member. Finally, I will provide some personal advice on submitting papers to the two journals and also will answer any questions related to publishing in the two journals or publishing empirical OM research in general.

报告人简介

Professor Hugo Lam is Chair in Operations Management and Director of Research in the University of Liverpool Management School. Hugo’s research focuses on operational implications of emerging technology adoption and sustainable supply chain management. He has published 3 papers in Journal of Operations Management (JOM) and 7 papers in International Journal of Operations & Production Management (IJOPM), as well as papers in other journals such as POM, IJPE, and TRE. His IJOPM paper (Lam, 2018) was selected as IJOPM’s Outstanding Paper of the Year, while his JOM paper (Lam et al., 2022) received JOM’s Jack Meredith Best Paper Award (Honourable Mention). Hugo is also serving as an Associate Editor for IJOPM and an Editorial Review Board member for JOM.
